Parental Involvement

All parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate actively in the various functions organised by the school throughout the year. This involvement benefits parents, caregivers and students.

Parents and caregivers can be involved through:

  • the School Board
  • the Parent Network which is a social and fundraising body in the school. Meeting times are advertised in the school's Newsletter and social media channel and are open to all parents/caregivers. Great importance is placed on parent/caregiver involvement and parents are encouraged to be involved in, or to support fund-raising and social activities, working bees and many other activities. Nominations are sought annually for all office bearer positions
  • the school garden
  • assisting teachers on excursions or in class
  • coaching sports teams.

All volunteers in the school are required to be a 'Registered Volunteer'.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact the school's Front Office for more information on 8211 2400 or email info@smg.catholic.edu.au

School Board

The School Board operates according to the guidelines set down by the South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools.

The Board consists of the Parish Priest, Principal, Parent Representatives, a representative from the St Martin's Parent Network, a representative from the Staff and co-opted members. It ensures that the School fulfils its educational responsibility in the Parish and to administer school finances. Elections are held at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Parent Network

Our Parent Network plays a vital role in our school and consists of parents and caregivers who are interested in supporting the school through fundraising and community building events. It's a wonderful opportunity to share in ideas, help shape events and connect with other parents in our school community.

If parent and caregivers are interested in being a part of this vibrant and essential group of parents, please contact the school on 8211 2400.
